Polarcus set to shoot seismic for Galp in Namibia Portuguese oil company Galp has said that Polarcus will this week start a seismic survey over its PEL83 Offshore License in Namibia’s deepwater offshore. The survey in the Orange Basin is scheduled to start January 25 and end in March. As part of the 3D seismic contract with Galp, Polarcus’ vessel will cover an area of around 3,000 square kilometers. CGG expands Gabon seismic footprint Marine seismic acquisition and processing company CGG has said it is extending its Gabon multi-client data footprint with a 9,800-km long-offset 2D seismic survey in an unexplored deepwater area of the South Basin. CGG said it is “building on the success” of its 25,000 km2 3D BroadSeis(TM) survey, which led to the recent Boudji-1 and Ivela-1 oil discoveries.
